     Pastor Don Hazen was ordained to the ministry when he was 30 years old and called to pastor a church immediately.  His ministry was well accepted by the church members and other pastors in the association of 27 churches.  It was not very long until he became known as a “Pastor’s Pastor”.  His ministry continued until he was 83 years old at which time failing health forced him to retire from the pulpit. It was then the Lord laid another burden on his heart and a different ministry began.  He became the founder and president of The United Pastors of America, a 501 C3 corporation whose agenda is to challenge the clergy across America to lift our voices in unison until we become a prevailing voice in our political dialog at every level.

     At this time, Pastor Hazen was pastoring a church in DeLand, FL a few doors down from Stetson University.  It was then, that after being a pastor for 43 years and a student of the scripture for over 50 years the Lord showed him how little he knew about the teachings of the Bible.  This was a very dramatic experience.  It was like peeling off another layer of an onion.  The Lord opened up the whole Bible to a new level of understanding and revealed to him the undeniable truth that God’s called and anointed clergy had been in the forefront of politics ever since the Lord appeared to Moses and told him to go to Pharoah and tell him, “to let my people go that they might worship me.”  And who was Pharoah?  He was the world’s greatest political and military leader at that time.  When the Lord descended to the top of Mt. Sinai, it was for one purpose, and that was to establish the government by which ancient Israel would be ruled.  The Lord gave Moses every minute detail of the tabernacle and all it’s furnishings.  When this was finished, the Lord told Moses to make holy garments for Aaron and his sons that they might minister to Him in the tabernacle services.  He told Moses to make the Holy garments with Beauty and Glory.  The last two items of the Holy Garments were a Golden Mitre and a Golden Crown to be placed upon Aaron’s head.  Upon the head of Aaron’s sons was placed the Holy Bonnet.  The Golden Mitre and Crown represented the Divine Authority and Power that God gave His anointed servants to use His Ward to shape and form the culture of His chosen people, the Nation of Israel.

     Our forefathers knew and embraced this teaching and our secular history teaches that they were heavily involved in establishing the governments of the 13 colonies.  The Lord has blessed our nation to become the greatest nation in the world.  However, in the 1860’s President Abraham Lincoln said, “We have forgotten God.”  Psalm Ch 9 verse 17 says, “The wicked shall be turned into Hell and every Nation that forgets God.”

     As stated above, our agenda is to teach the clergy across America that the time has come to wake up and study deeper in their Bibles until they can see these simple and undeniable truths and center their message upon these facts.

     President John Adams said, “It is the duty of the clergy to accommodate their discourse to the issues of the times, To preach against those sins which are most prevalent and preach in favor of those virtues which are most wanted.”

     It was during those years as pastor in DeLand that the Lord showed me the distinct parallel that existed between ancient Israel and our own nation.  What a powerful and beautiful lesson!  I began to understand that God’s Word (The Holy Bible) was more than information about the teachings of the coming of the Promised Messiah and His life and crucifixion.  He showed me that it was (is) the world’s greatest history book.  He also gave me the thought that, “History is a wise and powerful orator that cries out to every succeeding generation.”  It was during this season that the Lord gave me the expressions of the art that I share with you.  The scripture teaches that God uses many different ways to communicate with His people.  This is obvious with the writing of David in Psalms and Soloman in all their writing, just to name two of many other ways.  I trust you will find God speaking to you with the work on our website.  May God pour upon you His blessings as you look upon His work!
